Dear captains and chess players.
First of all, we would like to note that the technical problems that arose in the 5th round today are sad for everyone, as well as for the organizers. However, such cases are unfortunately found in online chess tournaments.
As stated in the regulations, the organizer is not responsible for the technical problem encountered by the chess player during the game, and the results do not change. However, the totality of this situation placed a special responsibility on us.
Since the technical problem was related to the chess players of 4 teams from 3 countries, we could not consider it an individual technical problem and keep the results as they are. The mentioned technical problems include Azerbaijan-Mexico, Azerbaijan-3 – Kyrgyzstan, Turkey-Mongolia, Cuba Masters-Philippines. However, Tornelo’s managers did not accept that the problem stemmed from them. However, we believe that the problem that arose in the games of chess players from 4 teams was related to Tornelo. At the end of our consultations with the referees, we decided that these games should be resumed from where the technical problem occurred.
We tried to solve our problem as soon as possible so that the 3 rounds scheduled for today could be played in full. However, unfortunately, due to the large number of games, it was not possible to do it in a short time. All the planned games were continued and the results were recorded. However, the match between Tamames Soria, Cesar Manuel – Romero, Gladimir Chester, which was left over from the match between the Cuba Masters and the Philippines, was postponed to tomorrow due to the late night in the Philippines. This game will continue on April 4 at 17:00 (Baku time) (13:00 UTC, 15:00 CEST).
We decided to continue the 6th round on April 4, taking into account the long waiting times for chess players, the fact that it is late in some participating countries and the suggestions of the captains. Note that the tour will start at the same time tomorrow. However, 4 rounds will be played.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
